BLOSSOM HILL ROAD—a grand testimony to San José's anti-pedestrian mission.

Blossom Hill Road is the only street that crosses Hwy 101 in this section of town. On the way, it merges with several speeding on-ramps and off-ramps, and makes for a hair-raising experience for those who work in the industrial park on the other side and dare to defy San José's car culture by choosing to walk or bicycle.

Sure, pedestrians are theoretically permitted here, and there's even a partial sidewalk on other side of the road for them, somewhere—if you can figure out how to get over there.

San José: where cars matter more than people.
